"Earth's Pulse"

I sit at the water's edge

Not by grass

Or on a ledge;

In the water as

The sand pulls down the chair.

Waves course over feet,

Ankles, and up to the knees

In rhythm to the waves.

As a metronome to the earth,

I feel the pulse

And revere in its heart.
